About Geelong Region Olives
Our story
Our Story

Geelong Region Olives grew from the Mt Moriac grove in Modewarre, in the hinterland behind the Surf Coast. Since the early 2000s the grove has been worked on a ridge of rich volcanic soil, with a focus on healthy soils and fresh oil.

Nurtured by nature
Sheep graze between the trees, managing the grass and fertilising the trees. Prunings are mulched, composted and returned beneath the trees, and native plantings through the groves bring in biodiversity.

Nothing wasted
Olive pulp from pressing is composted on site, and the pits fuel the processing machinery. The oil store and office run on solar power and captured rainwater.
Restaurants we supply are on a zero-waste refill system, and bottles can be refilled at our market stalls.

Produced by farmers. Sold by farmers.
From 2018, Stephen Parker began working with other growers in the region. Some of the groves had been abandoned. He now manages those groves and leases the trees, and harvests from groves across Victoria's west coast.
Each brand keeps its grove's name, so the oil carries its place.
